Product Description

A beautiful hand carved wooden Jharokha reminding The Royal Rajasthani tradition. It is 25 inches in length, 17 inches in breadth. This finely hand carved Jharokha is a true example of the artistry craftsmanship of Rajasthani handicraft. This carved decorative Jharokha takes you back to royal Rajasthan, where kings appeared before their subjects on ornately decorated balconies. Made on a smaller scale, this work of art can be used as a frame for images or idols in your home, or to adorn your window and add some royalty in your interior. This typically Mughal architectured and Rajasthani architectured Jharokha, jutting forward from the wall plane could be used both for adding to the architectural beauty of the building itself or for a specific purpose. It is an ideal decorative and gift item. This wooden Jharokha is plain curved at the top with nine temple structured spikes pointing downwards, in the extension to it is a wood piece intricately carved on it is a lively Peacock pair. This design set is continued with a temple frame, adjoining it are two pillar imitations continuing from the curve completing its Jharokha structure. The pillar is carved and molded in traditional Rajasthani style pillars with floral creeper motifs which are traditional in design. The main highlight is the gold painted peacock pair ornamentation which is eminent in The Pink City-Jaipur ( Rajasthani) architecture, as can be seen in Hawa Mahal popular landmark in Jaipur. The intricate designs are highlighted with golden paint The quality of wood used is good quality wood and durable. It has two hinges provided at the back so that it can be easily hung on a wall or placed on a wall. It is well varnished to protect from moisture damage.
